Among the people of the world, Koreans especially appreciate freedom and peace because of the civil war that separated them and the divided country in which they now live. Koreans eagerly long for a peaceful unification.
Unlike any other place, Panmunjom shows the tension between two nations and also makes one realize the importance of the liberty and the peace. In the JSA, the tour is conducted under the solemn and watchful eyes of the UNCSB-JSA soldiers. There are two tour programs, one for Koreans and the other for foreigners. Koreans can apply through the Information Ministry of the South Korean government. The application should be made at least 60 days in advance. On the other hand, foreigners can simply use a tour company that specializes in Panmunjom tours. One such company is the Panmunjom Travel Center. One can tour the JSA, if he/she applies 3 days in advance.
